UX/UI Design & VR/3D/Game Intern

As a working student (f/m/d) in UX/UI Design within our Strategic Innovations Projects Team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of immersive technologies. You'll work on innovative technology projects, with a strong focus on virtual reality (VR), 3D design, and game-like experiences.

In collaboration with our experienced designers, you'll explore and implement diverse design solutions, develop storyboards, user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes. In close collaboration with the developers, your designs will effectively communicate concepts and be brought to life in cutting-edge VR and 3D applications. You'll have opportunities to perform user research, conduct usability tests, and refine high-fidelity UI designs tailored for immersive environments. Additionally, you will support the team in creating visually compelling presentations that simplify complex technical concepts for stakeholders.

What you bring

• Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences in Interface Design, User Experience Design, Interaction Design, Game Design or a related field
• A design portfolio (online), showcasing UX as well as UI work
• Preferred Skills:
  • Solid understanding of the design process and related methodologies: Design Thinking, User Research, Usability Testing, and Prototyping in all kinds of fidelities
  • Passion for translating complex problems into elegant and user-friendly solutions by following UX/UI Design principles
  • A great eye for detail, especially when it comes to UI and Visual Design
  • Experience in creating low and high-fidelity prototypes with design tools (e.g. Figma)
  • Experience in designing for AR/ VR applications is a plus
  • Experience in working with Data Visualizations is a plus
  • Knowledge in 3D Design Tools / Modeling is a plus
• Language skills: Fluent in German or English (written and spoken)

• Work Experience: We are preferably looking for a working student (f/m/d) with prior work experience as a student worker in a similar field or within your studies.

Meet your team

At Strategic Projects, as part of the Office of the CTO, we are driving forward SAP's development excellence by implementing cutting-edge and strategic-relevant solutions. In addition, we provide expertise with tech evaluations and develop proof-of-concepts for strategic technology topics. Our team consists of about 60 colleagues who are students, young professionals, and experienced professionals in the areas of software development, design, project management and team/management assistance. We work in teams that are mainly located in Potsdam/Berlin, Dresden and Walldorf and collaborate closely with other SAP teams to realize our mission.
