Role Overview

As a Senior Creative Technologist, you will drive the integration of AI tools into Scratch's platform, from ideation to production. You will create prototypes, conduct user testing with children and educators, and develop features aligned with Scratch's mission to deliver safe, equitable, and engaging learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Define and execute the vision for integrating AI, ensuring equity, safety, and creativity.
  • Prototyping and Development: Build interactive prototypes and maintain a robust prototyping infrastructure for iterative learning.
  • User-Centered Design: Conduct playtesting and gather feedback to refine prototypes and align with user needs.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver scalable AI-driven solutions.
  • Ethical AI Leadership: Ensure AI integrations are safe, equitable, and transparent.
  • Scalable Solutions: Support the deployment of features from prototype to production.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • 5+ years of front-end software development experience.
    • Proficiency in JavaScript and UX design.
    • Experience with prototyping and ideation.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in creative coding, educational technology, or designing tools for children.
    • Familiarity with React, AI integrations, recommendation systems, and prompt engineering.
    • Experience teaching or using Scratch is a plus.

Compensation & Location

  • Salary: $125,000 - $155,000 USD annually.
  • Location: Remote, with preference for candidates near New York City or Boston.
