About
The Immersive Audio Standardization (IAS) team consists of international experienced members contributing to international standards in immersive audio coding and rendering, such as 3GPP IVAS and MPEG-I immersive audio. The team focuses on creating new immersive audio technologies and pushes them to global standards. We currently have an exciting internship opportunity related to 3D modeling of visual content for AR & VR.
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Capture visual scenes using a scanning application such as Niantic's Scaniverse
- Load the scenes into Blender and edit them further so that they would be suitable as visuals for VR or AR scenes.
- Export the scene from Blender to be loaded into Unity used as visuals in a demo application.
- Test the demo applications on a head mounted device (Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro).
- Depending on your skills, you can also program our demo applications written in Unity & C# or Swift for Vision OS.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE You have:
- B.Sc. or comparable level in a relevant field such as game programming or 3D modeling with hands-on experience in using Blender (preferred), Maya, or 3ds Max.
- Good collaboration and communication skills (English mandatory) along with the capability of solving challenging problems independently.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience in 3D production pipelines for interactive games or VR & AR scenes.
- Experience or personal interest in Unity, C#, Swift, python or C++ programming.
- Experience in 3D modeling formats such as triangular meshes, polygons, point clouds, or the Universal Scene Description (USD), or data manipulation libraries such as trimesh.
- Experience or interest in music or audio as the project is about creating visuals for audiovisual VR & AR.
