Vapi is at the forefront of a new era in voice AI. With the upcoming advancements in voice assistants like Apple Intelligence and Google Gemini, voice is becoming the world's default interface. Businesses and products must adapt quickly, and Vapi is here to help. We provide the infrastructure developers need to bridge the gap between raw AI models and production-ready voice applications.

Since launching in March, we've scaled revenue, grown to a small but mighty team of 17, and recently secured a Series A from a top-tier firm. Now, we’re looking to build out our founding team in San Francisco.

The Opportunity

As the Founding Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Vapi’s product and user journey. From crafting the user’s first experience with our platform to developing a powerful and seamless voice AI deployment journey, you’ll be at the heart of product innovation. This is your opportunity to own the design vision and lead the team as we grow.

Key Outcomes

First 7 Days:

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to address urgent design challenges.
• Engage with customers to understand pain points and map out a redesign plan for the Dashboard product.

First 14 Days:

• Deliver a first draft of the Dashboard product redesign.
• Implement UX/UI improvements for the Conversation Builder.
• Establish a design library and define the visual language.

First 30 Days:

• Redesign the onboarding flow to boost conversions from sign-up to first interaction with a Vapi agent.
• Develop an LLM-assisted onboarding flow to minimize deployment time.

First 60 Days:

• Use customer feedback to design solutions and drive the product roadmap.
• Overhaul the landing page and redefine Vapi’s brand identity.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in UX/UI product design. Bonus: experience designing developer platforms.
• Technical Background: Familiarity with writing code, with insights into how developers use and interact with LLMs.
• Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to articulate design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Compensation

• Salary: $90,000 - $150,000
• Equity: 0.1% - 0.3%
