About

The Department of Languages, Cultures & Applied Linguistics in Dietrich College seeks a Digital Learning Experience Developer to create immersive, interactive learning experiences for language and cultural education.
Responsibilities:
- Develop immersive storytelling experiences using Unity, WebGL, and Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK).
- Optimize VR/AR experiences for devices like Meta Quest, HTC Vive, and mixed-reality platforms.
- Manage a specialized studio, oversee student workers, maintain equipment, and handle budgeting.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create artistic, cultural, and educational experiences.
- Contribute to personal artistic projects to enhance the department's reputation.
- Assist in strategic planning for integrating emerging technologies into educational programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s Degree preferred) in media design, game design, HCI, or related fields.
- 2+ years of experience preferred, but recent graduates or self-taught candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Expertise with Unity; experience with WebGL and Mixed Reality Toolkit (MRTK) is desirable.
- Familiarity with VR/AR headsets (e.g., Oculus, HTC, HoloLens) and ARCore/ARkit.
- Ability to contribute to film/sound editing is a plus.
- Strong background in immersive media, interactive storytelling, and digital production.
- Passion for education, language learning, and cultural exploration.
